However, there are times when we may better serve an individual or family by referring them to an organization with greater resources than ours or that specializes in certain crisis situations. For those reasons, we have provided the list below to help you in your search.

Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous-830-868-4245. Meets every Monday & Thursday from 7pm to 8pm at the First Christian Church of Johnson City.
Altzheimer's Caregiver Support Group-Meets the 1st Tuesday, 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson City. JoAnn Routh, 830-868-7417. www.alz.org/texascapital

Capitol Area Food Bank: This organization provides food to the needy in Blanco County. Food distribution is at the Johnson City Housing Authority, 304 S Avenue F, on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 11am until 1pm, or until they run out of food. Anyone from Blanco County may come. Contact Glenda Shayne, at CAFB: 512-684-2112 regarding eligibility to receive food, or to become a sponsor or make a donation. Sometimes referred to as the Blanco County Food Bank. This is a separate organization from the Johnson City Food Pantry.
Christmas J.O.Y.-(Johnson City Outreach for Youth): Stephanie Haley, 830-868-0837. We help needy children (newborns through age 17) with provision of clothes and toys at Christmas. Applications for assistance available at Super S & JC Record Courier, and completed applications may be turned in at the JC Record Courier and City Hall.
Cleaning for a Reason-If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment.

Johnson City Christian Food Pantry-provides food to the needy in the greater Johnson City area. Food is purchased from the Capital Area Food Bank. Food distribution is at the back area behind the County Annex Building in Johnson City, and is given away on the first Wednesday (after the first Tuesday) of the month from 9a until noon, or until it is gone.

Board meets 3rd Tue at 5:15p at the Housing Authority located at 304 S Avenue F, Johnson City, TX. The agenda is posted at the Housing Authority and at City Hall.
